Designer: Charles and Ray Eames , 1950
Description: The Wire-base table is, as several other designs, a result of Eames' many years experimenting with wire rods which yielded a number of playful and functional breakthrough products in the 1950s. Two tables could be lined up and used as a coffee table, the table can be used as bedside tables, and tables could also be stacked on top of another to serve as an end table next to a sofa.
Materials: The tabletop is made of birch veneer sandwiched between high-pressure melamine laminate in black or white. The wire rod design base is made of polished stainless steel.
