Designer: Charles and Ray Eames, 1945
Description: This so called LCW (Lounge Chair Wood) has its historical roots in early 1940s experimentation with molded plywood. Between the frame and the plywood elements are rubber shocks absorbers which spread forces and movement. It has become a much loved classic with its elegant frame and ergonomic sculptured plywood shells.
Materials: The frame, legs, seat and back are all made from molded plywood.
