Designer: Charles and Ray Eames, 1948
Description: The Eames DAW chair (Dining Armchair Wood-base) is one of Eames' most recognizable designs. The design was first presented at the Museum of Modern Art in New York's Low-Cost Furniture Design Competition. The beautifully molded seat is deep, with integrated armrests and back. The front of the seat has a waterfall edge, enhancing the look and providing very comfortable seating. With its iconic design, the DAW chair is perfect grouped around a dining table or standing alone as a single piece.
Materials: The legs are made of solid wood with stabilizing metal rods in polished stainless steel. The seat is made of fibreglass reinforced plastic.
