Eero Aarnio was born 1932 and studied at the Institute of Industrial Arts in Helsinki. Aarnio is most well known for his innovative furniture designs from the 1960s, notably his plastic and fibreglass chairs. Aarnio's designs represents the 1960s popular culture and could often be seen as part of sets in period science-fiction films.
The Ball chair - with its hollow sphere - and the hanging transparent Bubble Chair are two of Aarnio’s most known designs. Several of Aarnio’s designs are represented at MOMA New York and Vitra Design Museum.

Description: This is the smaller children's version of the Ball Chair. The Ball Chair is designed from the most basic geometric forms - the ball. The result is splendid and completely unconventional. Due to its form, the Ball Chair gives a cozy atmosphere and gives a private space for relaxing. The Ball Chair turns around its own axis on the base so that the user can decide his/her own degree of privacy.
