Wilhelm Wagenfeld was born in 1900. He studied metalwork at the Bauhaus, where he designed the table lamp that later became one of the most popular products from the Bauhaus school. Wagenfeld is also known for his design of the Kubus, which is a series of modular glass storage containers from 1935.
Wagenfeld’s design is characterised by timeless form and function. He remained loyal to the Bauhaus principles throughout his career. One of his classics is a table lamp, known as Wagenfeld Lampe, which he designed together with Karl J. Jucker.
