Kay Bojesen was born 1886 in Copenhagen. He worked for Georg Jensen and continued his education within design in Germany. In 1913 he started a company in Copenhagen and 1922 he designed his first wooden toys.

Bojesen worked also as silversmith, but he is mostly known for his wooden toy designs such as the lifeguard soldier from 1942, the monkey from 1951, the elephant from 1953.
