Eero Saarinen was born in Finland in 1910 and in 1923, emigrated with his family to the USA. He grew up within the community of the Academy of Art, where he took courses in sculpture and furniture design. He had a close relationship with fellow student Eames and became good friends with Florence Knoll.
Eero Saarinen's designs are constructive and bold. Recently there has been great interest in his designs and design style. He is known for his armchairs, including the Womb and the Tulip chair.
